The house was built in 1814 by Joel Scribner, one of
New Albany's founders (1813). It contains antiques, books, paintings, toys,
textiles, photographs, family histories, and letters, much of which belonged
to the Scribner family. The house was lived in by the Scribner family from
1814 to 1917. It was then purchased by the Piankeshaw Chapter of the
Daughters of the American Revolution that was founded in 1898. |
